In the NFL, there are many historic rivalries among teams that give each team a little extra drive during the week.

But there aren’t many that can really be called “border battles.” In this group is the competition between the Vikings along with the Green Bay Packers, which isn’t as far apart as you might think.

In spite of the fact both of these teams have had their fair share from hot streaks, 56 of the 125 games played between these two teams have finished in a tie.

The all-time score is 65–57–3, with Green Bay holding a small edge. However, the score has been even for the past couple of seasons.

Three of the last five games between the teams have been won by Minnesota. That includes the win in Kevin O’Connell’s debut as head coach to start the 2022 season.

Since Jordan Love became the Packers’ starting quarterback this season, the Vikings will also be starting a new era in the battle.

There have only been two starting Packers quarterbacks who aren’t Aaron Rodgers and Brett Favre since December 27, 1992. That was when Rodgers got hurt for a game within 2013 and 2017.

Three out of the last four games, Minnesota (3-4) has triumphed in three. Last week, they shocked San Francisco 22–17 on Monday Night Football. Green Bay (2-4) has fallen in three games in a row and four of its last five.
