Almost 40,000 tickets for sale each game since the end of the restrictions

Beyond the problems to buy tickets with an IP from Germany or with a German credit card, since FC Barcelona had blocked the purchase of tickets in these cases, the fans of the Eintracht Frankfurta specialist in large European trips, did not have much greater difficulty in acquiring seats for Thursday’s match at the Camp Nou, either on the Barça club’s website using contacts and credit cards from other countries, through tour operators or on resale pages. And it is that as has been happening since the end of the restrictions due to the pandemic, since the end of October, Barça had around 40,000 tickets available for the duel against the German team. Of these, some 30,000, including 5 percent of the capacity allocated to the rival club by UEFA regulations, went to the Eintracht fans, unleashing a wave of indignation in Barcelona fans, who at the Camp Nou felt as if they were far from home.

Almost 27,000 leave

Until the arrival of the pandemic, Barça, which had a number of subscribers around 83,500, only had between 13,000 and 14,000 tickets for sale. A figure that was drastically increased last summer, when a total of 26,238 subscribers took advantage of the leave of absence for this season that the club provided. Of these approximately 14,000 seats for sale for each party, it was then passed to the nearly 40,000 current. Increased even in the case of the match against Eintracht Frankfurt, since although this course the ‘seven lliure’ was suspended, the club made an appeal last week to the season ticket holders so that if they could not go to the Camp Nou in this and the upcoming matches, will free up their seat, without any consideration, “with the aim of maximizing support for the team and generating new income for the club, which is essential in the current situation”.

Approximately 2,500 members responded to the entity’s request, thus increasing this number of available tickets, in total, to more than 42,000. More than enough to cover the demand of the 30,000 German fans who traveled to Barcelona and the vast majority of whom obtained their corresponding ticket.
