MADRID, 6 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Argentine coach Jorge Almirón presented his resignation as coach of Boca Juniors this Sunday after the defeat in extra time (1-2) against Fluminense in the final of the Copa Libertadores, played at the Maracaná stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
In a statement, Boca Juniors announced that this Sunday Jorge Almirón and his coaching staff, with a contract in force until the end of the season, made the decision “not to continue” in the position. “Our institution appreciates the services provided by all of them and wishes them the greatest success for the future,” he added.
Almirón arrived at Boca Juniors in 2023 after completing his second stage as a coach in the EA Sports League of Elche, a club from which he was fired after failing to right its course and which ended up being relegated in the year of its centenary.
