Almería wins with little to a Leganés who did not deserve to lose

Almería, with a goal by Portillo in the first half, won three points this Friday by beating a Leganés 1-0 that did not deserve defeat on their visit to the Mediterranean Games Stadium, where their coach, Asier Garitano , was against the ropes.

A result with which the rojiblancos remain at the top of the category, with three consecutive wins, while Leganés have their sixth straight match without winning and have achieved only 2 points out of the last 18 possible.

Leganés, doing a good job in the pressure, made it difficult in the first half for an Almería game, which had a hard time finding its main reference upstairs, Sadiq, on whom a penalty was claimed.

He did find the Nigerian Lazo, half an hour into the game. Sadiq stung the ball before the departure of Iván Villar, Palencia cleared on the goal line and the ball ended up at the feet of Portillo, who did not forgive the 1-0.

Leganés tried again and again, despite the goal against. A header from Luis Perea went to a post and into the hands of Fernando and later Fede Vico, inside the area, crossed his shot too much.

Almería, with little, went to rest with an advantage against a combative Leganés who tried to change his luck.

Leganés continued looking for a draw after the intermission. First Randjelovic, twice, and then José Arnáiz, also twice, the second of them to empty goal after a false start by Fernando, ten minutes from the end.

In none of them did he find the goal award. Neither did Juan Muñoz, Garitano’s last ‘bullet’, in a header.

Almería did not even shoot between the three sticks in the second half. The only chance Rubi’s men had after the break was a shot from outside the area by Samú Costa that went high.
