Almería seeks a milestone in the Mediterranean Games

Almería de Rubi has picked up cruising speed, performing both at the Mediterranean Games Stadium and outside the Vega de Acá venue. The best start for the rojiblancos in their history (six victories in eight games) is a causality of the football they are proposing, mixing a game of possession with a voracious verticality above, achieving with the passage of the days an outstanding balance between defense and attack. The Almeria team has already equaled the best scoring start in recent years, when Elche scored 17 goals after playing eight rounds. Rubi's men now have a new challenge: keep the initial twelve points at home.

After beating Oviedo (2-1), Málaga (2-0) and Tenerife (3-1), Almería has the possibility of achieving it tomorrow (6:15 p.m.) against Las Palmas. The first Almería that could do it was Pedro Emanuel's in 2019, but Cádiz then took the loot from the Mediterranean. The rojiblancos beat Albacete (3-0), Huesca (1-0) and Girona (3-1), but the Cadiz beat the then leader. Corpas equaled the goal of Choco Lozano, but in 89 'Pacha Espino materialized the final 1-2.

In 2013 Javi Gracia was also able to do it, but after three consecutive wins in the Mediterranean, he punctured against Hercules (0-0). That Almería, who ended up moving up, got six wins and two draws in the start at home, without conceding up to six times in that space of time. A year earlier Lucas Alcaraz had a dozen games without losing at the start at home, with seven wins and five tied. In 2006 Paco Flores, like Gracia, got ten out of twelve possible units, tying with Eibar (1-1) in the fourth home game. and achieving a partial of 19 points out of 21 possible.

The Barcelona coach made Almería the best venue in the category, with 49 points, something that Unai Emery repeated the following year, with 54 units (the best figure in Indálica history in this regard), but as far as the start is concerned that of Hondarribia (with 48 goals, Almería was also the top scorer at home) fell on the opening day against Tenerife (0-1), the only visitor to win that season in the Mediterranean. Very positive was also the start of Pepe Cayuela's Almería in 1995, with a dozen points in those four home games, but Leganés prevented in the first match of the Almeria in professional football (1-1, in Juan Rojas) that they did the plenary session that they can get tomorrow.
