The player and captain of Barça Femení Alexia Putellas started working partially with the group this Monday, and thus burns another stage in the recovery of her cruciate ligament injury in her left knee, suffered in the summer of 2022.
“Alexia Putellas has begun to do part of the work with the group in training this Monday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper,” the Blaugrana club announced.
With Jonatan Giráldez’s team preparing for the match against Roma, the second leg of the ‘Champions’ quarterfinals this Wednesday at the Spotify Camp Nou, Alexia Putellas tested herself with her teammates.
“The captain of Barça begins a new phase in her recovery process,” the club stressed. Alexia tore the cruciate ligament in her left knee on July 5, at a concentration for the Spanish team.
On the 12th, she underwent a satisfactory operation and began a long recovery that in recent weeks had already led her to exercise alone on the pitch. She will now partially do it with the rest of her companions.
“You feel a little bit of what I’ve always felt again. Now it’s a matter of patience, of continuing to work. We’re starting a new stage, which is gradually joining the team,” said the player in statements provided by the club.
“The doctors, who are the ones who understand this, say that the whole process is going well. My sensations are very good. Now we are starting a new phase and I am eager to be available, but this is marked by the doctor and my knee. We will see how he reacts”, said the Catalan.
