MADRID, 16 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The MotoGP rider Álex Rins, who will ride the Honda of the LCR Honda Castrol team in 2023 after Suzuki’s departure from the championship, assured that his end of the campaign with the Japanese firm was “spectacular”, with victory included in the Grand Prix of the Valencian Community that closed the 2022 World Cup.
Rins, who also won the event in Australia -the second to last in the championship-, coped as best he could with the “hard news” that Suzuki was leaving MotoGP, but he knew how to redirect the situation to finish, almost, in the best possible way.
“After the news we went through several races with bad results, with a mix of bad luck, with crashes with other riders, who threw me. In one they broke my hand and then it was like a mountain of bad things. But in the end, without lower our arms, we managed to come back and do the end of the season that we have done”, he acknowledged.
“The end of the season that we have done, getting two victories in the last three races, has been spectacular, after looking for those good positions throughout the year. I deserved it and the team would rock it, so I think we have done a great season finale”, he deepened in an interview provided by Estrella Galicia 0,0.
Rins, despite still having a long race ahead of him, stated that he would like to be remembered at Suzuki as a good rider who developed the bike and was part of “a winning bike”. “Now I want to continue growing as a pilot and as a person,” he opened up.
He will go to LCR Honda, where he faces a new challenge. “We have a very nice project on our hands that I would like to make grow, have a competitive and winning bike again, so these are the objectives,” he contributed.
“Well, goals and objectives go a bit together. Honestly, now it’s difficult to set a goal or an objective, so we’ll see what the future holds for us,” he said ambiguously about the 2023 World Cup without wanting to set a specific goal.
