Alessandro Lequio’s controversial opinion on Leonor’s Oath: “It’s shameful”

Indignant. This is how the Italian count expressed himself this Tuesday regarding the absence of the emeritus in the Constitutional Oath of the Princess of Asturias. Alessandro Lequiostaunch defender of Don Juan Carloshas assured that he finds the fact “shameful.”

Sitting for the first time on the set of TardeARLequio has assured: “The absence of King Juan Carlos seems shameful to me. This man may have done bad things but he has had good things, one of them bringing democracy to Spain, in addition to being the king who signed the constitution that his granddaughter signed today. The thing is that every day people sit in Congress whose sole objective is to blow up the Constitution, not to mention justify terrorism. And King Juan Carlos, who brought democracy to this country, is not allowed to attend the swearing-in of his granddaughter.”

The count entered into a heated confrontation with the former president of Andalusia, Susana Díaz, contrary to his criteria: “Felipe VI can lead a public life with Jordi Pujol and yet King Juan Carlos cannot attend his granddaughter’s swearing-in. I am amazed”said Lequio.

And he has launched a direct criticism of Pedro SanchezPresident of the Government, when he swore loyalty to the Monarchy in his speech: “The tremendous thing is when Sánchez said that he can count on the loyalty and respect of the Government, a government that some were absent.”

About Leonor has also been blunt: “This girl has grown more in cotton wool than her father. She has grown up seeing her father crowned, while the father has lived through episodes like 23F. This girl has had it easy.” The Queen Letizia Nor has he escaped the count’s darts (“When he got out of the car he had a crazy face”) either Infanta Sofia: “I think Leonor is very cute, today she was impeccable. And the king was a great success, the suit suited her wonderfully. The one who was looking very bad was her Sofia. Firstly because she wore foreign fashion and above all because The model was more typical of a GH contestant than of an infanta of Spain at a state event. There was no need to rent it either. Letizia was doing very well but it was not the day to recycle, she deserved a new outfit. “They were both wrong for not using Spanish fashion.”

Furthermore, Lequio surprised those present with a peculiar confession: “I am raising my daughter to be the future queen of England. I’m not kidding. “My great-grandmother, Queen Victoria Eugenie, was born at Balmoral and why can’t little George marry my daughter,” she said. “She will be queen consort, but then she will take power.”
