Concern among royalty after the Danish royal house reported this Wednesday the 21st that Queen Margaret has tested positive for Covid. The monarch shared space with the rest of the royals at the state funeral of Queen Elizabeth II in London.
Margarita, 82, has canceled all her commitments and is resting in her Fredensborg castle, official sources report, who have not given details about the sovereign’s state of health. Margarita was already infected with coronavirus last February.
“Her Majesty The Queen tested positive for COVID-19 last night and is now staying at Fredensborg Castle. The Queen’s activities this week have been cancelled. The Friday night party at Christiansborg Castle for Danish members of the Government, the Folketing and the European Parliament will take place with His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Her Royal Highness the Crown Princess as hosts.”
Margarita has been in close contact with many of her namesakes during her recent stay in the United Kingdom to say goodbye to Elizabeth II. The Danish monarch attended the funeral chapel of the ‘queen of all queens’ in Westminster Hall on Sunday before attending the reception given by King Charles III at Buckingham Palace accompanied by her son, Prince Frederick. On Monday she was at the state funeral and at the private mass that was later held at Windsor Palace and was attended by most of the ‘royals’.
Margarita occupied one of the first benches in the last goodbye to Isabel II, next to her son Federico, the Kings Carlos Gustavo and Silvia of Sweden and the Kings Guillermo and Máxima of the Netherlands, as well as Princess Beatriz of the Netherlands. Behind the Danish, a few meters away, the Kings Felipe and Letizia, Don Juan Carlos and Doña Sofía and the Kings of Norway, Harald and Sonia.
