Aleksandar Katai leaves LA Galaxy for racist insults from his wife

Aleksander Katai was left out of the LA Galaxy, after racist posts by his wife Tea Katai, amid protests over the murder of George Floyd in the United States.

Through a statement issued this Friday, the Californian team released the midfielder who arrived just for this season, after last Wednesday he condemned the publications of the footballer's wife, who reportedly was in the city of Chicago while Aleksandar Katai was in individual training at Dignity Health Sports Park.

“LA Galaxy and midfielder Aleksandar Katai have mutually agreed to end the contract that links the player with the institution ”, wrote the angelina squad.

LA Galaxy met with the Serbian midfielder this Thursday, June 4, where they told him that he would be out of the box in Los Angeles, who spoke out against racism and discrimination within the American Union.

After the publications were released, in which Katai's wife called for “kill the shit” on protesters demanding justice for George Floyd, LA Galaxy fans called for the departure of the 29-year-old footballer and gathered at the Los Angeles stadium with the slogan “No racists in our club.”

The European footballer was announced as a reinforcement of the LA Galaxy prior to the start of the 2020 season, after Katai finished his stage for the Chicago Fire. With the Galaxy, Katai could barely play two games, due to the suspension of the campaign for the coronavirus pandemic and leaves Los Angeles with just 117 minutes with the squad led by Guillermo Barros Schelotto.
