BARCELONA, 2 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish cyclist Alejandro Valverde and one of his usual training partners have suffered an accident this Saturday when they were riding around Alcantarilla (Murcia) and both are in good condition, without fractures or “other serious injuries”, as confirmed by the Movistar team.
“We confirm that Alejandro Valverde and one of his usual training partners have been involved this Saturday in an incident when they were shooting in Alcantarilla,” explained the telephone training in a statement.
The ‘Bala’ has undergone tests at a medical center in the area, like his partner, and in the case of the Spanish runner he will remain under observation for 24 hours to verify his condition and will later be discharged. “Both are fine, without fractures or other serious injuries,” Movistar said of the runners’ health status.
Valverde and his partner would have been hit by a car when they were driving on the RM-560 road and the driver would have run over a third cyclist, also a partner of the Murcian, before leaving them lying on the road and fleeing, according to reports ‘La Opinion’ of Murcia.
