Just like we publishthe New Mexico Prosecutor’s Office has dropped the involuntary manslaughter charges against the actor Alec Baldwin for the death of the cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the set of the movie Rust on October 21, 2021.
A decision that the American comedian has also received with great joy and that, above all, gives him a bit of peace of mind after living in the focus of the media hurricane for a while.
By his side, luckily, his wife was always there, Hilaria Baldwin, to which the actor wanted to thank his company in the course of the investigation. “I owe everything I have to this woman,” he wrote on his social networks along with an image embracing his 39-year-old wife and mother of his seven children.
The events took place a year and a half ago in Santa Fe, where they were filming the western Rust. The actor was rehearsing one of the scenes with a prop weapon that was supposedly a blank when it went off, hitting the cinematographer. The Prosecutor’s Office filed charges against Baldwin and the film’s weapons manager, Hannah Gutierrez-Reed. He always declared himself “not guilty”, since he assured that he did not touch the trigger.
This week, the film’s production company has resumed filming Rust in Montana, 18 months after the fatal accident. Alec Baldwin continues to be an actor and producer on the film. Halyna Hutchins’ widower, Matthew Hutchins, has been named executive producer and will keep the income that the film earns when it is screened.
