MADRID 10 Ene. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Spanish power forward Santi Aldama returned this Thursday to play in the NBA with the Memphis Grizzlies after several weeks of absence due to injury and he did so with a good performance in the tight 115-119 defeat at the FedEx Forum against the Houston Rockets.
The Gran Canaria player injured his ankle at the start of the game on December 27 against the Toronto Raptors and had missed the last six games of a team that is not at its strongest in the regular season and that suffered its third defeat in the last four games, although they remain third in the Western Conference.
Aldama, who started from the bench and played 23 minutes, returned with a good feeling and was close to the ‘double-double’ by scoring 12 points and capturing nine rebounds, although he did not have his best shooting night with 4/12, with 2/ 6 in the triple.
The Spanish international was the best rebounder for the Grizzlies led by Ja Morant’s 27 points and who lacked success in the final stretch of the game. Memphis scored its last basket in the game with more than three minutes left to go up 112-115, but until the end it could only score three more points from the free throw.
