Alcaraz will not be in Monte Carlo due to an injury to his right arm

MADRID, 9 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz, number 3 in the world, announced this Tuesday that he will not be able to compete in the Monte Carlo Masters 1,000, which is currently being played on clay, due to an injury to the “pronator teres” of his right arm.

The Murcian, who began the clay court tour this Wednesday in the second round of the Monte Carlo tournament against the Canadian Félix Auger-Aliassime, will not be able to be in the Monegasque event for the second consecutive year.

This time, an injury to the pronator teres muscle in his right arm has prevented Alcaraz from being present at the first Masters 1,000 on clay of the season.

“I have been working in Monte Carlo and trying to recover until the last minute from an injury to the pronator teres in my right arm, but it was not possible and I cannot play. I really wanted to play… See you next year!” , the tennis player wrote in his ‘X’ account.

The Spaniard has not played a match since March 29, when he lost in the quarterfinals in Miami against the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov. In addition, Alcaraz won his first title of the year on the American tour in Indian Wells, beating Russian Daniil Medvedev in the final.
