Alcaraz reaches another Challenger final at Cordenons

Carlos Alcaraz does not put the brakes on. The Spanish continues to establish itself in the tournaments of the ATP Challenger Tour after reaching a new final, which will be played this Sunday at the Cordenons tournament, just a week after winning the title in Trieste, the first of his record at just 17 years old.

Alcaraz was much superior at the start to his semi-final rival, the German Daniel Altmaier, who did not give any option in the first set: 6-1. In the second quarter the forces were balanced and Altmaier had options to equalize the contest, but the Spanish showed greater solidity in the decisive points to seal his Ticket to the final in the tie-break: 8-6.

Alcaraz's trajectory continues to rise, since after ascending 33 places in the ATP ranking with his title in Trieste (it is 217th) now it is guaranteed its presence among the 200 best in the world when it reaches a new final. If he wins, next Monday he will rise to around 164th place, while if he is runner-up he will leave Cordenons as 184th. In addition, whatever happens in the final this Sunday, the title is guaranteed for a Spaniard since his rival will be Bernabé Zapata (23 years old, 173rd), who overwhelmed in the semifinals Alexander Tabilo: 6-1 and 6-0. Cordenons speaks Spanish.
