Alcaraz or Nadal? This is the ranking of the best Spanish athletes, according to Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence has an answer for everything. It doesn’t matter if you go to it to solve a mathematical problem, find out about the new designs of clothing brands or find out which are the best athletes according to this new digital tool.

With the skill of a human being, the AI is capable of drawing up a list of the best athletes in Spain. A decision that, on certain occasions, television commentators dodge as if it were a boxing battle.

The ring is ready and the application is clear. Although in Wimbledon the name of alcaraz in every corner, for artificial intelligence the number one athlete in Spain is Rafael Nadal. The countless titles of the Majorcan make him occupy the position of one of the best tennis players of all time. According to the Association of Professional Tennis Players, ATP, Nadal is currently ranked number 136.

The silver medal goes to Pau Gasol. The former basketball player, who is now resting from the sweat of the court, played 18 seasons in the NBA where he was a two-time champion. The Barça team, where he has played since 1999, made him taste the gold medal up to three times.

The third position is occupied Fernando Alonso. The pilot was awarded in 2005 with the Prince of Asturias Award. Likewise, the Asturian has won, both in 2005 and 2006, the Formula 1 World Championship.

Already off the podium and with the spirit of those who are left with the taste of victory on their lips, the fourth position is for the badminton player Carolina Marín. The Spanish, who currently competes in the Spanish individual category, reached number one in the world ranking of the Badminton World Federation, FMB. Although she is out of the top 3 for Artificial Intelligence, Carolina has won multiple world championships and was in charge of winning the gold medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

Fifth position and, in disagreement with everyone who celebrated the ‘winning goal’ in South Africa thirteen years ago, goes to Andres Iniesta. The former footballer made his debut for the Barça team at the age of 18. A couple of years later and, with the occasional victory in between, the former Barça midfielder left the first team shirt in 2018.
