Alcaraz joins the list

During the mighty dominance of Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal and Novak Djokovic, only questioned in some phases by Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka, the exercise of looking for the successor to break the dictatorship of the Big Three, something that, by law of life, is getting closer and closer. Several names have passed for that candidacy. It was pointed to Grigor Dimitrov (1991), nicknamed Baby FedererBut it was soon found that her undeniable class was not enough to assume that responsibility. Then it sprouted Dominic Thiem (1993), two years younger, today unemployed due to injuries, with a US Open in your record. The next one that broke in is Alexander Zverev (1997), four years younger than Thiem, current Olympic gold and fourth racket in the world, bidding with other generational talents such as Daniil Medvedev (1996) and Stefanos Tsitsipas (1998) to inherit the crown. MedvedevBy the way, it has taken the lead. And all of them have been joined by Jannick Sinner (2001), four years younger than Zverev, which dazzled in the ATP Finals NextGen of 2019 and this course has won four titles.

Dimitrov, Thiem, Zverev, Tsitsipas, Medvedev, Sinner and… A new name knocks on the door of this list. Is about Carlos Alcaraz placeholder image (2003), two years younger than Sinner, with whom epic battles are predicted. Both could have starred today in the first in One, but the Spanish crashed in his semifinal against the solid Zverev, and the Italian was entangled before Frances Tiafoe after giving up his serve to win. Two signs that they still have many lessons to memorize, although they are diligent students. Alcaraz, 18 years old, has beaten this course to number 3, Tsitsipas, at US Open, and the number 7, Matteo Berrettini, on Friday at One. This week he also took revenge against Murray, who had beaten him in Indian Wells. Alcaraz learn fast … And also wants the throne.
