Albert Ramos and the Argentine Juan Manuel Cerúndolo will define the Cordoba Open title ATP 250 from Argentina, that is disputed on clay, after prevailing in their respective semifinals against also Argentines Facundo Bagnis and Federico Coria.
Albert Ramos-Viñolas (47) achieved his first victory in straight sets by 7-5 5-7 and 6-3 before Facundo Bagnis (130) in two hours and 50 minutes, to access his ninth final of the ATP tournament. The Catalan, who had just eliminated the first seed Diego Schwartzman (9) in the quarterfinals, will seek his third crown on the circuit after those achieved in Bastad 2016 and Gstaad 2019, both also on clay.
His rival in the final will be Juan Manuel Cerúndolo (335), who at 19 years and three months became the youngest Argentinian to reach an ATP final since José Acassuso had achieved it at the 2001 Argentine Open with 18 years and four months.
To access this defining meeting, the youngest of the Cerúndolo brothers won the Argentine match against Facundo Coria (95) for 6-4, 4-6 and 6-2 in two hours and nine minutes of play. The Argentinian Guido Pella (45) was low at the last minute due to coronavirus, which will also leave it without competition next week when the Argentina Open is played at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
