Albert Ramos will look for the fifth title of his record in Gstaad

MADRID, 22 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Albert Ramos qualified this Saturday for the final of the Gstaad (Switzerland) tournament, in the ATP 250 category and which is played on clay, after beating the Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic by a clear 6-2 and 6-3 in an hour and a half of meeting.

Ramos, currently ranked 79th in the world ranking and champion of this event in the 2019 edition, will now seek the fifth title of his record. And he will do it against the winner of the duel between the Argentine Pedro Cachín and the also Serbian Hamad Medjedovic.

The Catalan tennis player, who against Kecmanovic repeated his presence in the Gstaad semifinals a year later, began by conceding a ‘break’ and had to come back. After returning the break to his opponent, Ramos faltered again in the third game (2-1), but emboldened himself by saving three new break points.

From then on, the man from Barcelona no longer hesitated with his serving turns and also broke a couple of games from the rest, clinching the first set in 48 minutes. Although Kecmanovic pulled himself together at the start of the next set, leading 30-40 in the first game, his opponent once again showed mettle with a drive to settle the mishap.

Immediately, Ramos made a ‘break’ to the Serbian and consolidated that advantage (3-0), then breaking to distance himself on the scoreboard (4-0). Serving for 5-0 and then for 6-1, the Barcelonan conceded two ultimately inconsequential breaks. In the ninth game, yes, he closed the victory by serving on his second opportunity.
