Albert Ramos and Roberto Carballés advance in Córdoba

Spaniards Albert Ramos and Robert Carballés debuted with wins against Juan Ignacio Londero and João Sousa, respectively, in his first games in the main draw of the Córdoba ATP 250 Open in Argentina, which is played on clay.

Ramos, number 47 in the world, lost the first set to Londero (88 in the world) by 4-6, but he recovered and won the next two by 6-2.

Carballés (96) did not suffer so much and beat Sousa (98) by 6-3 and 6-1.

Eight other main draw matches were also played on Tuesday.

The Argentine Facundo Bagnis beat his compatriot Nicolás Kicker by 6-1 and 6-4 and the local Juan Manuel Cerúndolo beat the Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild 7-5 and 7 (7) – (3) 6.

The Argentine Tomás Etcheverry beat the Slovak Andrej Martin by 6-3 and 7 (7) – (4) 6 and his compatriot Federico Coria to the German Dominik Koepfer by 6-1 and 6-4.

In addition, the Argentine Federico Delbonis beat Pedro Sousa by a double 6-4, Francisco Cerúndolo to Gianluca Mager by 6 (3) – (7), 6-1 and 6-4 and the Brazilian Thiago Montero beat his compatriot João Menezes by a double 6-3.

In this third edition of the Córdoba Open Argentine Diego Schwartzman (9), French Benoit Paire (29) and Serbian Miomir Kecmanovic (41) are present.

The Argentinian Guido Pella (45) was out at the last minute due to coronavirus.

This Wednesday, Paire will face Jarry in the most outstanding match of the day.

The tournament is played on clay and will provide 250 points for the winner, 150 for the finalist, 90 for the semi-finalists, 45 for the quarterfinalists, and 20 for those who reach the second round.

This Argentine contest will distribute $ 325,270, almost half of the last edition.
