MADRID, 1 Sep. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Albacete Balompié lost 2-1 in their visit to Málaga CF in a match corresponding to matchday 3 of LaLiga Hypermotion, which this Saturday also saw draws between Cádiz CF and CD Tenerife (2-2) and between UD Almería and Real Sporting de Gijón (1-1).
At La Rosaleda Stadium, José Carlos Lazo put the visitors ahead in the 11th minute with a powerful left-footed shot from inside the area. But Dioni Villalba equalised for Málaga shortly after entering the opposition area, thanks to a low right-footed shot after a mistake by defender Juan Ros in his attempt to clear the ball.
In second-half stoppage time, Antonio Cordero scored a penalty to make it 2-1. This allowed the Malaga team (5 pts.) to open their winning streak in this 2024/25 season and, at the same time, to inflict on the Albacete team (6 pts.) their first defeat of this campaign that has just started in the Second Division.
In the same zone of the league table is Almería (5 pts.) after their draw against Sporting (2 pts.); thus, the Gijón team remains without a win. In that scenario are also Cádiz and Tenerife, who are respectively two and one point, after the Cádiz team tied the Tenerife team ‘in extremis’ thanks to a goal by Francisco Mwepu.
