New scare at Olvido Gara’s house. Just two months after Mario Vaquerizo’s terrible fall during a concert in Cáceres that cost him a double hospitalization, a cervical injury and a neurological injury that affected his vision, it is Alaska that becomes a patient. The artist issued a statement on her social networks this Friday to explain what happened: “On Monday I had a thrombus in my left eye ‘occlusion of the central retinal vein and macular edema’ with total loss of vision.”
The singer has offered these explanations after sparking concern among her followers following a photograph in which she appeared with an eye patch. Despite the initial scare, Alaska assures that she is fine and that she uses the ‘supplement’ only as a precaution: “I am very well taken care of. The patch is not for the thrombus, it is not necessary, but I don’t want to put on makeup as a precaution, which they are treating with intravitreal injections. Of course, he warns that the recovery will be long: “You have to be patient, recovery is not overnight.”
With a great sense of humor, Alaska has accompanied her text with a photo in which she wears the patch, now customized: it has gone from the black ‘pirate’ to the silver sequins of a true diva.
Many friends have reacted to her publication with messages of affection to wish her a speedy recovery, such as Bibiana Fernández (“But how wonderful, you are the pirate, but blonde”), Secun de la Rosa (“Kisses and a good recovery”) or Valeria Vegas (“Healing kisses, get well soon.”)
