Luis Surez will be operated on Sunday for “an injury to the external meniscus of the right knee,” as confirmed by FC Barcelona, ​​which has not offered an estimated time to leave, but that it will issue a medical statement when the player leaves the operating room . The striker played on Thursday the 90 minutes of the semifinal of the Spanish Supercup, although he has finally reported his recurring problems in the aforementioned joint.

Last May, discomfort in the right knee forced Surez to another surgery in order to recover for the Copa America. This setback prevented him from participating in the final of the Copa del Rey, which his team lost to Valencia.

The objective of '9' is to put an end to their physical problems and face the decisive stretch of the season in full. Now it remains to be seen if he will be able to reach the tie against Naples, in the round of 16, which starts on February 25 in San Paolo.
