The Spanish-Ecuadorian defender of Cádiz Carlos Akapo highlighted what the Argentine Augusto Fernández has meant for the Cadiz club's squad after he will participate this Friday in his last meeting as a professional in the clash they played in the Levante field.
“Augusto is a leader, a guy with a lot of experience who has taught us a lot. He is a huge professional and the truth is that even if he is bad, he always has a smile and that is to be appreciated, “he said in an interview with Movistar LaLiga.
The defender admitted that they “wanted to finish well” the League and that it would have been better with a win and not with a draw but he considered it good because they competed “until the end”.
“They have started very strong and we were a bit that we did not meet but as a result of the tie we have been better and in the end we have already finished the first half very well,” he said after the 2-2 against Levante at the Ciutat de València .
Akapo recalled that the team's philosophy is to “defend far behind” so that the rivals do not find spaces between their lines and go against it and that was what allowed them to get this last point of the season.
