Bàsquet Girona has announced this Friday that the veteran coach Aíto García Reneses “will not lead the first team” of the Girona club next season, after having achieved his salvation during this course in the Endesa League.
“The coach and the club part ways after a season working together. The Madrid coach arrived in Girona in the summer of 2022 to face the club’s first season in the ACB. With him, the team has achieved 11 wins and 23 losses, finishing the course in 15th position”, highlighted Bàsquet Girona in a note.
“The club wants to thank him for his work at the head of the team and wishes him the best in his upcoming challenges. Bàsquet Girona is already working on preparing the ‘staff’ for next season”, the press release concluded, alluding to to a 2023/24 campaign in which it is unknown if he will still have Marc Gasol in his role as a player.
