After “the hardest 14 months in my life,” Molly McCann’s UFC strawweight debut win made her feel better.

Molly McCann is able to breathe a little easier now that her first fight as a strawweight went well. McCann was feeling emotional because she wanted to start over in a different weight class after losing three fights in a row at 125 pounds.

He fought for the first fight at 115 pounds on Saturday during UFC Fight Night 235. He is a fan favorite. In the first round of their fight, McCann (14-6 MMA, 7-5 UFC) put Diana Belbita (15-9 MMA, 2-5 UFC) out with an armbar.

After UFC Fight Night 235, McCann told the press, “It’s been the hardest 14 months of my life.” It was my biggest dream to fight that MSG, but I lost. I got a co-main match in London and lost badly.

“I had to think about it for a long time to make sure I loved it.” “How much do you truly wish to be a champion?” my coach asked me. That much will be needed to make this weight and reach this weight.

Everyone online didn’t believe me. Everyone was mean to me. And that performance was the cherry on top. It’s not going to stop them, but I really couldn’t have done a better job. It was a mix of martial arts.

McCann wants to go back to the cage during the summer. She wants to be a UFC champion as well as needs to start moving up the rankings. “My hand hurts a little.”

The month of July sounds great, and I’d love to go there. I don’t usually call people out. I like being around other people and will fight if you give me the chance. Let’s hope the matchmakers were fair in terms of style.

English fighter Molly McCann lost her last two fights by submission in the first round. On Saturday, she turned things around when she submitted Canadian strawweight Diana (Warrior Princess) Belbita within the first round of the main event of a UFC Fight Night card.

McCann won by unanimous decision the first time these two fought, in October 2019, which was Belbita’s first fight in the UFC.

McCann said, “I’ll get that X-rayed and look at it. Then I’ll take a week off, go again to the gym, and figure out when it works best for us.”

McCann was the best on Saturday. He took Belbita down early in the first round and put him in a bad armbar that made him tap with one second left. McCann did this by dropping elbows from the full mount and then applying a nasty armbar.

That was McCann’s first fight at 115 pounds, down from flyweight (125 pounds). He was 14-6-0. Belbita (15-8-0) has lost three of her previous four UFC fights.

The main event taking place at UFC’s Apex production facility was between Roman (The Caucasian) Dolidze of Georgia, who is ranked eighth to middleweight contenders, and Nassourdine (The Sniper) Imavov of Russia, who is ranked eleventh.

This was the first UFC event since UFC 297 in Toronto on January 20. That night, The southern part African Dricus (Stillknocks) Duplessis beat American Sean Strickland to lose his middleweight title by a split decision.

Nine of the 19 fighters on the UFC roster are from or live in Canada. They competed at UFC 297.

Before moving to Stoney Creek, Ontario, Belbita lived in Romania. Now she trains with UFC fighters (Proper) Michael Malott and Kyle (The Monster) Nelson.

Belbita was three inches taller and six inches farther away than the other woman, who was five feet seven inches.

But McCann beat her in a fight of strikes and beat her twice. After beating Belbita, McCann said sorry for not being in the right weight class before. His UFC record now reads 7-5-0.

Belbita, who is 27 years old, had lost by decision to Karolina Kowalkiewicz of Poland in October. Her UFC record dropped to 3-5-0, even though she still beat Brazil’s Maria (Spider-Girl) Oliveira at UFC 289 in Vancouver in June.

It was McCann’s first submission win as a professional. In her previous two fights, American Erin (Cold Blooded) Blanchfield submitted her via kimura and Lithuania’s Julija Stoliarenko submitted her via armbar.
