Adriana Martín leaves Málaga: “I would have liked to retire here”

Adriana Martín, one of the greatest scorers that Spanish football has ever given, has announced on her Instagram that she will not continue at Malaga, that next season she will be coached by Nati Gutiérrez. The woman from Teruel, from Puebla de Valverde, joined the Malaga team in 2017 in a year where the team rose to the Iberdrola League losing only one match. The forward scored 47 goals. The next two seasons were not as fruitful for the team. Much to his regret, Adriana has decided to undertake new challenges. For your interest, we reproduce your farewell communication in full.

“Malaguistas. Today is a very sad day for me. With tears in my eyes I say goodbye to what has been my home for the last 3 years. From the first day I learned that Malaga was a special club and Malaguismo was recorded in my heart. Hundreds of kilometers from home, I felt I had a home, I found a new family with you.

THANK YOU.

To every person who is part of this great club; each member of its Board, all its employees, Directors, all my technicians and colleagues for giving me the opportunity to defend this shield and grow both personally and professionally. A shield that I have defended with tremendous pride. For which I have given myself every day to the maximum both on and off the field, and with the absolute happiness of wearing the captain's armband and what it represents, trying to do it as best I have known.

To the fans, for having been unconditionally always by our side. Especially to the Peña Coraje y Corazon for their love, for being our support, our strength and our encouragement at all times, regardless of the weather conditions or the results.

To my Genuine. I have no words that express my admiration and how I feel for all the teammates and players. You are example, you are inspiration, kindness, companionship, overcoming, strength, humility, illusion, you are innocence and joy, you are pure LOVE. I think I will never be able to give back to this club, this wonderful city and its people everything they have given me.

MEMORY. Memory never forgets and I will always carry in my heart every day that I defended this shirt.

COMMITMENT. With the satisfaction of being delivered heart and soul by the MCF and this precious malaguista feeling.

FAITH. There is nothing I want more than our paths to cross again in the future.

I would have loved to hang my boots here but the situation has left me no other alternative. I can't say goodbye MCF, because FEELING NEVER DIES, and wherever I am I will always be one more MALAGUIST.

I love you Malaga
