MADRID, 11 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish taekwondo athlete Adriana Cerezo won the silver medal this Sunday at the Rome Grand Prix, in the -49 kilos category, after falling in the final with the Thai Panipak Wongpattanakit.

Cerezo did not achieve a small revenge against the Asian wrestler, executioner of the Spanish in the final of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. The Madrid, champion last year in Rome, lost 4-0 to the favorite, a Wongpattanaki who achieved her tenth series gold.

Meanwhile, Cerezo maintains his usual position on the podium this 2023, after last week the bronze was hung at the World Cup held in Baku. The woman from Madrid has her eye on the Paris 2024 Games, where her presence is almost guaranteed due to the good results that nourish her Olympic ranking.

The runner-up in Tokyo 2020 signed the second medal for Spain in the Italian capital after the gold achieved by Adrián Vicente (-58 kg) on Saturday.
