Adrián Vicente achieves Olympic place in taekwondo at -58 kilos

MADRID, 10 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Madrid-born Adrián Vicente gave Spain the second ticket to compete in taekwondo at the Paris Olympic Games next year after winning the bronze medal this Tuesday in the -58 kilo category at the Taiyuan Grand Prix (China).

Vicente, an Olympian in Tokyo where he fell in the quarterfinal round, achieved the necessary points to certify that classification, which joins the one achieved by Adriana Cerezo last month in the -49 kilo category.

The current number three in the Olympic ranking of the World Federation, 24 years old and who in 2023 has won bronze in the World Cup and gold in the European Games, fell in the semifinals of the event 2-0 against the South Korean Jan Jung, his executioner precisely in the Japanese capital and number one in the world.
