“A little over four years ago I was called to politics, which led me to leave all my professional activity -and, almost, my personal life- to help my party (…). It has been a very difficult four years for our party, marked by electoral processes of all kinds, almost permanently and with different results,” says Suárez Illana.
At the same time, he takes stock of his time in politics: “During all this time, I have tried to give the best of myself at the service of my country through the Popular Party […] I have also had the honor of being part of the Board of the Congress of Deputies in two highly controversial legislatures, from the institutional point of view”.
He assures that he has felt “satisfaction and pride” from his time in Congress: “I apologize for the mistakes made and I extend my deepest gratitude to all those who, with their help, allowed me to carry out this work and do it to the best of my ability” .
In this sense, Adolfo, who suffered throat cancer in 2014, talks about his departure: “Time passes and circumstances change […] For my part, I feel that I must resume the professional and family obligations that, at the time, I understood I had to park temporarily.” Following his statement, he received support on social networks from the president of the Popular Party.
