According to police, Colts president Jim Irsay was treated for a suspected overdose.

Jim Irsay, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, was discovered unresponsive and having difficulty breathing at his residence in Carmel, Indiana, last month, according to police reports that were obtained by The Athletic on Wednesday. The reports indicate that Irsay reportedly overdosed.

Documents from the police department cited by TMZ indicate that police dispatched to Irsay’s residence in Carmel, Indiana at approximately 4.30 a.m. on December 8.

An individual told the officers that they discovered Irsay unconscious on the floor of his bathroom, with blue skin.

According to the report, Irsay was in bed when the police arrived, yet he was experiencing breathing difficulties, a weak pulse, and constricted pupils.

Paramedics arrived and initiated “lifesaving efforts” before transporting Irsay to an area hospital via ambulance.

According to TMZ, the police attempted to rouse Irsay with a sternum rub, but it was unsuccessful; however, he responded slightly to a single dose of Narcan, a medication that can be administered to assist opiate overdose victims.

Jim Irsay, 64, owner of the Indianapolis Colts, is undergoing therapy for a severe respiratory illness, the organization confirmed to the Indianapolis Star on Wednesday.

This occurred more than a month later, shortly after Irsay was discovered “unresponsive” in what the police suspect may have been a medication overdose.

According to Carmel Police records obtained from CBS Sports Lead NFL Insider Jonathan Jones, Irsay was found unresponsive in his Indiana residence at 4:30 a.m. on December 8.

Emergency personnel observed that he was “cold to the touch” and that his skin had a “bluish tint.

An officer administered Narcan, specifically naloxone, a medication frequently used to reverse heroin overdoses, to Irsay.

In response, he “exhibited a marginal response.” Paramedics transported him to a hospital later.

On Wednesday morning, the Colts issued the following statement (as reported by The Indianapolis Star): “Mr. Irsay’s recovery from his respiratory illness continues.

We do not have any additional information about Jim’s health and continue to request that Jim and his family’s privacy be respected.

Early in January, Irsay was active on social media; however, it has been weeks since his last public statement. A victory by Indianapolis in that game would have secured the team a berth in the playoffs.

Because Irsay is customarily quick to comment after NFL months, frequently offering lengthy assessments of his team, which concluded the 2023 season with a Week 18 loss to the Texans, the media was perplexed by his unavailability.

Irsay is undergoing “excellent care and looks forward to returning on stage as soon as possible,” stated the Colts, which requested that the public and media “respect the privacy of Jim and his family as he recovers.”

His illness prevented him from performing with his band at a mid-January show in Los Angeles.

In December of last year, TMZ reported that Jim Irsay, the owner of the Colts, was found unresponsive and gasping for air, suggesting a suspected overdose.

The police classified the occurrence as “overdose” and “overdose/poisoning,” according to the police report.
