Former American basketball player Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, star of the Los Angeles Lakers and NBA legend, broke his hip last Friday as a result of a fall during a concert in Los Angeles (California), as indicated this Saturday by the website ' TMZ'.
According to this and other US online media, Abdul-Jabbar suffered a nasty slip at that concert and ended the night in the hospital at the age of 76. The representative of the former Los Angeles center, Deborah Morales, confirmed the news in statements to 'TMZ'.
Campus paramedics responded quickly and transported Abdul-Jabbar to UCLA Hospital. Although his condition was not revealed, Morales commented that the former player was “deeply grateful” for the support received from the Los Angeles Fire Department and also for the “incredible team” of doctors who are taking “very good” care of him.
