Abascal aspires to García-Gallardo being the vice president of Mañueco

“What a vice-presidential face does Juan García-Gallardo have…” With such an eloquent comment, the leader of Vox, Santiago Abascal, expressed, from Valladolid, what his aspirations are after it was confirmed yesterday that his candidate for the Presidency of Castilla y León managed that the green party will go from a single deputy (achieved in the May 2019 elections) to 13 in the last electoral night.

Such a resounding result confirmed the expectations that the PP, after winning with a very slight difference, will need Abascal’s formation to form a larger majority. Vox also made it clear, through the mouth of its leader, that this support will be subject to the toll of becoming part of the Government. Not in vain “Vox has the right and the duty” to be part of the Castilian-Leon Executive, as Abascal asserted.

“We demand respect for the verdict of the sovereign people,” he stated immediately, later adding that “we will not demand more or less than what corresponds to us,” always “acting responsibly.”

Open PP doors

The doors to the formation of that coalition government are already open with regard to the PP. Specifically, the Castilian-Leon president and popular candidate, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, assured, after hearing yesterday’s election results, that he will speak “with everyone to form a government of all and for all.” It will be, in Mañueco’s opinion, a stable and permanent Executive, without the threat of motions of censure.

“We are going to have a strong government to give stability to Spain,” added the popular baron.

The leader of that formation, Pablo Casado, strived to make a positive reading of the results of 13-F. Through his Twitter account, he sent his congratulations to Mañueco after confirming “that the PP has won the elections.” In addition, he stressed that “the change of cycle in Spain is unstoppable”, a message that the popular have repeated throughout the entire electoral campaign for the elections in Castilla y León.
