Ukrainian tennis player Stanislav Poplavskyy has been banned from the sport for life after an investigation by the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU) determined that there was participated “on multiple occasions” in match-fixing activities between 2015 and 2019.
Poplavskyy, who was ranked 440th in the world in July 2012, has also been charged and convicted of “transmitting live score data from one match to a third party”, a prohibited practice for gambling purposes, and of failing to report your activities, when asked to do so.
Poplavskyy has accepted all the charges and the Anti-Corruption Hearing Officer Richard McLaren has sanctioned him with a lifetime ban and a fine in addition to $ 10,000. This sanction has started on December 1, 2020, and the player has permanently prohibited from playing or attending any tennis event authorized or sanctioned by the governing bodies of tennis.
