a taunt for Sonsoles and a meeting with José Andrés

This Thursday, the presenter fulfilled her promise to return to ground zero in Valencia 51 days after the passage of the devastating DANA that left 223 fatalities and countless material damages in more than 20 towns in the region. Ana Rosa has traveled around Paiporta and surrounding areas again to visit those affected and see first-hand how the situation has evolved. In addition, he has distributed gifts, surprises and has met José Andrés, who is still there with his NGO, World Central Kitchen.

The presenter, who traveled to ground zero just one day after the tragedy, has assured that the situation has improved but much less than expected. She visited Hortensia, a dressmaker who lost her workshop and all her clothing because of the water, and wore one of her clothes during her live connection: “They described my workshop as a total disaster. I was completely devastated,” she said then. Now, little by little, she resumes her work: “They have done a miracle for us by giving us this space. It is a small team, because we can’t all be there.”

In addition, he has been with Carmen, a 91-year-old woman who lost her home and who returned home this Thursday. Thanks to the help of volunteers, it is completely renovated and Ana Rosa has accompanied her to witness her emotion: “Thank you, thank you,” she said excitedly. She was not the only one to receive a surprise: a child received a video game console after losing his and his mother received a car so she could get around the area.

However, Ana Rosa also experienced very difficult moments when interviewing Toni, the man who lost his wife and three-month-old baby in the flood: “I spend a lot of time here, in the office, because I can’t get my head around here.” so many turns,” he confessed. Quintana could not help crying when he saw how it broke: “It’s terrible,” he said as he hugged him. Her interview with the grandparents of Rubén and Izan, the two children who died in Torrent, was also complicated: “I keep my pain to myself. Now it’s time to help my daughter and my grandson, who have lost the will to live,” said the grandmother.

“Not like others”

From the set, her colleagues have burst into tears and applauded the fortitude of their ‘boss’ in such circumstances, taking the opportunity to throw a jab at Sonsoles and the rest of the competition: “I want to say that I feel proud to work on this program, because it is true that the media is there when the news happens and then, many times, we forget. We promised, Ana Rosa promised, that we would not forget Valencia and we are there, helping in every way we can. ..”, said Bea Archidona.
