River-Defense suspended after 25 minutes due to the death of a local fan

A River fan died this Saturday at the Monumental Stadium when he fell into the void from about 15 meters in the Sivori Alta tribune, a few minutes after the match against Justice and Defense, which was suspended due to the tragic event.
“The Football Safety Committee and Club Atlético River Plate regret to inform that, in this afternoon’s match against Defense and Justice, a supporter jumped into the void from the Sívori Alta tribune and died on the spot. The medical service arrived at the immediately to the sector of the incident, as well as the police and the different security organizations”, announced River.
The local team released a statement in which it revealed the first investigations into what happened. “The Sivori Alta grandstand, where the deceased person had his subscription, was at 90% of its capacity. At the time of the fall there was no intervention by third parties. It was also verified that there was no situation of violence in the grandstand or around him. After 30 minutes, the stadium was completely evacuated,” he explained.
However, the investigation will continue while the Argentine league match was suspended. “By instruction of the prosecutor, the gallery was closed for 24 hours to obtain evidence,” added River.
