A car sneaks into the Estadio da Luz: one injured and one detained

The Benfica stadium has been the protagonist this Tuesday of an unusual incident. A driver has sneaked his vehicle into the Estadio da Luz and took the opportunity to take a few laps on the pitch for a few minutes before the astonished gaze of the club's employees present there, as reported by Radio Renascença.

The incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. in Portugal (5:30 p.m. in Spain). According to the witnesses, the driver slipped into the stadium through one of the access gates that was open. We had no qualms, once inside, of invading the lawn with the car. Minutes later, a police officer appeared at the Estadio da Luz, blocked the vehicle and detained the driver. The agent had to be treated at the Hospital de Santa María for a few minor injuries. The driver, for his part, was arrested by a patrol and taken to the police station to testify.
