4-1: Querétaro thrashes the leader America

Uruguayan Hugo Silveira scored a couple of goals and provided an assist to lead Querétaro this Sunday in their 4-1 win over leader America, in the 2020 Apertura of Mexican football.

Silveira, twice, and the Mexicans Daniel Cervantes and Omar Islas scored for the Gallos, while Sebastián Córdova responded with a goal from the Águilas, who maintained the first place with 10 points, the same as Cruz Azul and three above Querétaro, sixth of the classification.

Querétaro started backwards, which America took advantage of, but little by little the Roosters of coach Alex Diego began to step on the rival area and created threats.

In the 34th minute, the home team took advantage in a counterattack. He took advantage of the space and in a response play took advantage with a goal from Silveira to pass from Irving Zurita.

The duel was complicated for the Eagles of strategist Miguel Herrera with the expulsion in 40 of Paraguayan Richard Sánchez, who left the azulcremas with one less man on the field; the before and after the duel.

With one goal advantage and superiority on the ground, Querétaro let their rival grow; He gave him the ball and paid the consequences with a goal from Córdova in the 58th minute from Viñas, however the Gallos regained the advantage three minutes later with a right hand volley from Cervantes.

Islas made it 3-1 to Silveira's pass, in 63, and Silveira converted from left-foot in 92, to sign it 4-1.

The duel served for the debut of Paraguayan Richard Díaz with America. He entered in the 78th minute.

On the sixth day, next Saturday Querétaro will visit the Atlas and America will receive the champion Monterrey.
