Today, June 17, marks the 15th anniversary of the last game of David Beckham at Real Madrid. The Englishman was the last galactic that signed Florentino Perez for Real Madrid who paid 35 million to United. There is a curious coincidence that United gave the OK to Beckham’s departure to Real Madrid on June 17, 2003.
Beckham he played for the team from 2003 to 2007 and won a Spanish Super Cup and a League. It was precisely with that league title that Beckham said goodbye to Real Madrid. The white team won it 15 years ago today, beating Mallorca on the last league matchday. Beckham started in that match, but was replaced by Reyes in the 64th minute, a change that ended up being decisive because the late Reyes scored a double that gave Real Madrid the title.
