15 keys to the sinking of Malaga

1-Distancing with the fans. The fans have not stopped getting upset since the embarrassing descent to Second of 2017-18. The pandemic, of course, has done damage and the team is not helping. Last Sunday the subscribers found their seats full of mud, a product of the haze that is hitting the Costa del Sol. That the fans schedule a reception for the team at the stadium and the players go on their own because the team has not concentrated and not traveling by bus is something that should never happen again.

2-The inexplicable case José Alberto. Time has passed since the Asturian coach was dismissed and the antipathy that the stands had for him from minute one is still inconceivable. After the 0-5 against Ibiza, the sports management decided to dismiss him. It seems that the pressure of social networks was more decisive than the poor results.

3-Natxo’s scalpel has not worked. The technician from Vitoria has worsened JAL’s numbers. In nine games only one win, three draws and five losses. Six points out of 27 possible. descent numbers. Let’s not fool ourselves. He is very questionable.

4-Mental weakness. We refer only to the play of the 0-1 received against Huesca. A resounding and inappropriate error by Dani Barrio who gives a ball to Escriche who gives it to Mateu who scores at will. It is incomprehensible that a team collapses in this way.

5-The impossible comebacks. Conceding a goal in the first place is synonymous with defeat. Málaga has only come back from an unfavorable scoreline, it was against Sanse. In addition, on two occasions he has equalized a result, against Ibiza and Sporting. So it is impossible.

6-Without a goal there is no paradise. Málaga has not scored in 13 of the 33 games that we have been in the championship. In another 13 he scored a goal and in seven two. Being a striker for this team is a frustrating profession.

7-The dilemma of the goalkeepers. Dani Barrio and Dani Martín are not being decisive. In 33 games only six clean sheets. The first of the two also admitted that Malaga has not offered to renew while the second must return to Betis. And it seems that Manolo Reina will arrive next season.

Málaga fans waiting at La Rosaleda for the arrival of the team by bus to give them morale. There was no concentration and everyone came on their own…

Inefficiency of forwards. It is tremendous that among six forwards (Brandon, Paulino, Roberto, Chavarría, Sekou and Antoñin) they only have 17 goals.

8-Big disappointments. In this chapter, within the general mediocrity, we must point out Sekou and Antoñin. Two players from whom much was expected and who have not contributed anything at all.

9-Injuries. Luis Muñoz’s marked the slow start of the team’s decline. Juande’s definitive, the auction.

10-The laterals. Example of how bad planning can go. From the initial overbooking after the signing of Víctor Gómez on the right wing (along with Alexander, Iván Calero, Ismael Casas, Bilal and Ale Benítez) we have gone on to have to improvise Andrés Caro due to alleged lack of troops. On the left side, Cufré and Javi Jiménez have not finished convincing.

11-Lack of unity. It gives the feeling that the template is not as united as it should be. Too many groups and, as Manolo Gaspar said, too many social networks.

12-Slopes of those below. Such is the distrust aroused by this team, capable of winning only two of its last 15 games, that the fans celebrate with rockets every stumble by Sanse, Fuenlabrada and Amorebieta.

13-The drama of having to play at home. Málaga have only added three of the last 24 points at La Rosaleda. A complete disaster.

14-Day of fear. The prospects are not rosy. Málaga travels to Girona and Real Sociedad B receives Alcorcón. You can get to three points plus lost goal average. And the next visitor will be Valladolid.

15-Sad Team. It was already said by the former Málaga player and coach Ricardo Albis. “Teams are the reflection of their coaches.”
