“11 days ago my life stopped but we continue fighting”

The week began with very good news for the Pantoja family: little Alma, who was admitted to the Maternal and Child University Hospital of Gran Canarias 11 days ago, has experienced a slight but progressive improvement in the last few hours. Friends and family assured that the little “miracle” they had hoped for was happening and that both the baby’s parents and grandparents were beginning to breathe and smile. This afternoon, Anabel Pantoja herself was in charge of communicating the good news after almost two weeks of silence and suffering: “11 days ago my life stopped but here we continue, fighting with love and faith, moving forward step by step.”

Isabel Pantoja’s niece assures that the girl is fine and appreciates the attention of the medical service that is treating her: “Alma is fine, thank God, and the wonderful hospital that hasn’t let go of our hand since we arrived.” He is also grateful for the support of all his friends and family and the love they have received these days from all over the world: “Thank you for praying for Alma and sending us so much strength and love. We truly feel that hug that helps us move forward with more hope.”

The cousin of Kiko Rivera and Isa Pi is optimistic and has the strength to continue fighting and asks for respect and understanding for the delicate moment they are going through: “We continue forward, climbing one more step on this path (…) We only ask that the media allow us to live this process as parents with peace of mind, without speculation or demands about what has happened. And adds: “Our greatest wish is that this bad dream passes soon and we can return home to our daughter.”

Anabel understands the media interest generated by both herself and now her little girl, but both she and her boyfriend David need peace of mind and privacy in the coming days: “I would ask that you allow us to live these days with a little peace of mind, to be able to go to and from the hospital , taking shifts, going out to breakfast or lunch, or simply going out to wash clothes without feeling observed. Above all, we ask for respect not only for ourselves, but for the other patients in the hospital. And ends: “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being with us at this moment.”
