11.8 million euros for a third forward

You rarely see a forward with about twelve million euros in a fourth category. However, the Sheikh's Almería, already accustomed to capturing records, has made it possible this afternoon, debuting Arvin Appiah with the Almería subsidiary in the derby against Poli Almería. The Englishman signed for the Almeria team last year, paying the rojiblancos 8'8 million euros to Nottingham Forest and snatching it from Manchester United, also interested in his services. The extreme, from 2001, became the most expensive movement until then (Darwin has surpassed him) in the history of the Indálico club.

Although from the first day he had a file with the subsidiary, it was a mere administrative matter. He never played in Third and yes in the first team, participating in 21 games, a dozen of them as a starter and scoring a good goal in La Romareda. Two months ago he underwent surgery for intestinal discomfort and today he is back on the pitch on the curious artificial turf of the Los Angeles Sports City, in the capital of Almería, on the third day of group IX-A of the Third Division.

José Gomes has already advised this medium that hehe players of the first team with a subsidiary file (Gutiérrez, Ramazani, Mendes and Appiah himself) could participate with the 'B' in the case of not having minutes. Gutiérrez already did so in the first match against Mancha Real (0-0), although none of them traveled to Maracena (1-0), where the match was played on a synthetic surface, tAll indicated that the aforementioned would only play on artificial grass. Hence today's surprise, with nearly twelve million euros up front.

If the Appiah has started from the right, the point has been occupied by Juan Manuel Gutiérrez, for whom the sheikh paid three million euros this summer to the Danube. Both of them they have not looked, playing the English 60 minutes and Gutiérrez, 69, also playing Lluis and Albiar, in the daily dynamics of the first team. Almería B won the derby, 0-3, with goals from Aitor Puñal, Fermín (from a penalty) and Sergio.
