Eintracht Frankfurt has received 100,000 ticket requests for the Europa League final against Rangers, which will be played on May 18 at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium in Seville, according to the German club.

“We will strive to get every ticket that is available on the market,” club spokesman Helmann Axel said. It will be Eintracht’s first European final since winning its only title, the UEFA Cup, against Borussia M’gladbach in 1980.
The number of ticket requests far exceeds the contingent that is available to the club for the final. Of the 40,000 seats at Sánchez-Pizjuán, both Eintracht and Rangers will receive 10,000 each, 13,000 will go on sale to the general public and the remaining 4,000 will be reserved by UEFA for their commitments.
“We had a large number of requests, but the interest we have seen in just 48 hours is gigantic and goes beyond anything we had imagined,” said Axel.
“We know there will be many disappointments. We will strive to get every ticket we can get through official channels,” he added.
The madness among the Eintracht fans at the possibility of their team winning the Europa League was evident in the second leg of the quarterfinals at the Camp Nou, where 35,000 German fans invaded the stands taking advantage of the scalping and cheering on their players, who won 2-3 and eliminated Barça.
The final will be broadcast live on a giant screen at Eintracht’s stadium.
