0-1: Iriome knocks out Castellón in the extension

A goal from Iriome in the fourth minute of the extension gave Lugo victory in Mehdi Nafti's debut against Castellón that very shortly before saw how an Olympic goal by Marc Mateu was annulled for a goalkeeper foul, so in a matter of seconds the meeting went from possible 1-0 to 0-1 definitive.

The locals came out ready to impose their game and Castellón was able to take the initiative, although they ran into a Lugo well planted in defensive tasks, who avoided the danger generated by Castellón in attack.

The good combinations of the Albinegro team, especially with Jorge Fernández, did not translate into the rival frame on great occasions. Little by little the team of the debutant Nafti was growing, which was gaining in confidence.

Castellón could not materialize their dominance with the ball with clear scoring opportunities, which on the contrary tried to take advantage of the Galician team to endanger Álvaro Campos' goal.

He came out willing to search with more intensity for Cantero el Castellón's goal, although he could not find the way to score after the break. Few goal options for both teams. Only Muguruza with a shot that went high and a shot from Lapeña disturbed the visiting goal.

In the final moments Castellón and Lugo increased their intensity, with victory options for both. Jordi Sánchez tried first and then Zlatanovic for the locals.

The central Lapeña had a good chance again, but finally it was Marc Mateu who scored the Olympic goal for Castellón, annulled by the VAR when Satrústegui fouled in the small area.

However, at the last moment of the game, at the exit from a corner, it was Iriome González who headed a ball into the back of the Castellón net that gives Lugo its second victory of the season and Castellón its second defeat, also as a local.
