A goal from Iriome in the fourth minute of the extension gave Lugo victory in Mehdi Nafti's debut against Castellón that very shortly before saw how an Olympic goal by Marc Mateu was annulled for a goalkeeper foul, so in a matter of seconds the meeting went from possible 1-0 to 0-1 definitive.
The locals came out ready to impose their game and Castellón was able to take the initiative, although they ran into a Lugo well planted in defensive tasks, who avoided the danger generated by Castellón in attack.
The good combinations of the Albinegro team, especially with Jorge Fernández, did not translate into the rival frame on great occasions. Little by little the team of the debutant Nafti was growing, which was gaining in confidence.
