Mirandés took a point from Santo Domingo this Sunday that allows them to stay out of relegation and leaves the Madrid team, bottom of LaLiga SmartBank, very touched and that was unable to take advantage of the numerical superiority they had for more than fifty minutes after the expulsion of the Italian Riccardo Capellini.
In free fall without celebrating a victory for three and a half months, since October 10, 2021, Alcorcón faced the match as a true final for permanence because the team from Burgos, fifteen points away, was the one that scored the save zone.
Fran Fernández, coach of Alcorcón, arranged a tactical approach with a defense of five and gave entry as starters to three -Borja Valle, Iván Calero and José Ángel Jurado- of the signings of this winter market. One of them, Calero, tried his luck after twelve minutes with a shot from a changed leg that he took with great difficulty from under Raúl Lizoain, who was the one who supported Mirandés with his stops in the first half.
Before the break, Mirandés suffered a major setback by losing Capellini, after two yellow cards almost followed by dangerous play actions.
That numerical advantage on the pitch was not taken advantage of by Alcorcón, since all the approaches that he starred in the first half were diluted in the second, being unable to find holes to hurt Mirandés, conservative in his approach and trusting all his offensive game in counterattack actions.
In the final minutes, Alcorcón was rushed and ended up playing without defenders. They put all their players in the Mirandés area, but the team from Burgos defended themselves with great skill and ended up driving the local players to despair, who are getting closer to relegation week after week.
