MADRID, 14 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Sevilla thrashed Real Valladolid (0-3) this Sunday on matchday 34 of LaLiga Santander to continue his spectacular run with José Luis Mendilibar and look at the European zone of the table, while Valencia beat (1-2) RC Celta de Vigo to breathe from below on a favorable weekend.
The Andalusian team does not let up: seven wins, three draws and one defeat, with the addition of a team feeling that is difficult to explain after only two months of work with the Basque coach. The first half, yes, belonged to the Pucelanos, with occasions from Torres, Escudero and Larin, up to a controversial discount.
The local team signed the 1-0 through Escudero on the horn, past time to understand the referee Ortiz Arias, who whistled the end just as the player hit the ball. José Zorrilla heated up and became even more frustrated with Rafa Mir’s 0-1 score shortly after the restart, the final blow.
Sevilla lived the second half much more comfortably, managed the times and it was that team with clear ideas, those of ‘Mendi’. Papu Gómez and a Corona team recently returned from injury signed the goals of the 0-3 draw, an exhibition finish for a Sevilla that threatens to hunt down anyone who doubts and who will seek the Europa League final on Thursday in the second leg of semifinals against Juventus.
Meanwhile, Valladolid remains one point above a relegation zone from which Valencia fled. Rubén Baraja’s team won in Balaídos thanks to a header from youth squad player Alberto Marí in the 87th minute, bringing ‘che’ to salvation with 37 points and raising more doubts if possible in a Celta team with 39.
Another bet from ‘Pipo’ for youth like Diego López also worked, highlighted in a first half that the visitors took with Kluivert’s 0-1. Celta barely reacted but the game was open to a second half in which Seferovic signed the 1-1. Marí got three gold points for a Valencia that took advantage of the punctures from Getafe, Valladolid, Cádiz and Almería.
