The Real Federacin Espaola de Ftbol (RFEF) will present a modification of the regulation for remove the regulatory exception which allows a player to sign when a club has a long-term injury, which only occurs in Spanish football, according to the president of the RFEF Luis Rubiales.

This exception, which has allowed this week to Barcelona sign dans attacker Martin Braithwaite of the Legans to replace the french Ousmane Dembl, which suffered a long-term injury, already generated in previous years that FIFA would recommend the RFEF to suppress it, and it was not done because of the opposition of LaLiga, according to Rubiales.

“In 2016 the RFEF asked the CSD (Higher Sports Council) to abolish this rule, and if it is still in force it is because LaLiga opposed. We are going to resubmit a modification of this regulation so that this exception disappears, “he explained after participating in a meeting at the CSD.

Only in Spain

Rubiales explained that this rule is “Nicaraguan “and that FIFA” inst “to eliminate it in 2016, when the Federation proposed to do so, before what LaLiga opposed with a report, according to the federative president.

The president of the Federation has also explained that he has asked “in writing” to LaLiga that modify the Mirands match schedule, semifinalist of the Copa del Rey, on the day before his return match on Wednesday, March 1 against Real Sociedad, since Mirands play with Girona on Sunday, while Real have their match against Valladolid on Friday.

It seems unfair that Mirands has three days and the other team has five, we respect Real, Mirands, Athletic and Granada very much, and we understand that between LaLiga and the Federation we have to agree, “said Rubiales, who said that in any case that modification does not depend on the RFEF.
