Racing Murcia, of the Third Division, announced on Friday the signing of none other than English central defender Joleon Lescott, an international with the ‘pross’ and who was a player for Manchester City, Everton and Aston Villa, among other clubs. Lescott, 38 years old and who played Euro 2012 with England, joins the Murcian cub but only to sign a match: the first round of the Cup against Levante.
Joleon Lescott, whose last team was Sunderland in 2017, thus becomes a luxury reinforcement for Morris Pagniello's club, currently seventh in group 13 B of the Spanish Third Division, although with two fewer games to play than the rest .
No less than 288 matches played in the Premier League include Lescott, who scored 24 goals in the English championship. He lived in Manchester City (which he arrived from Everton in 2009) the most triumphant stage of his career, since with his shirt he won two Premier Leagues, an FA Cup and a League Cup.
Lescott was trained at Wolves, from which he made the jump to Everton (2006-09). He played for City between 2009 and 2014. After that, West Brom, Aston Villa, AEK Athens and his last club was Sunderland, with whom he retired, in 2017.
