End of an era in Mediaset. Ana Rosa Quintana has closed her program forever, after 19 years of uninterrupted morning broadcasts on Telecinco. “It has been the most important stage of my life, both personal and professional,” said the communicator in a last message that she sent to the audience before going on vacation. When he returns to Telecinco, at the end of September, he will do so to take charge of the afternoons with a new program.
Ana Rosa Quintana has begun by saying goodbye to her colleagues and the members of the Unicorn team, the production company she chairs. “I am very grateful to everyone, because this is a team effort”, she has said, trying to keep her voice and that her emotion did not prevent her from continuing with the text that she had prepared. “I don’t want to cry, I feel like saying goodbye to the audience and doing well.”
Next, Ana Rosa remembered “Màxim Huerta, Óscar Martínez [fueron sus copresentadores] and all the people who have passed through here”. “But, above all, I want to say goodbye to you [los espectadores]. There is always a first time in life, but there is also a last time for everything”, commented the presenter, who premiered in the morning on Telecinco on January 10, 2005.
Quintana has reviewed all the great news that she has covered since her program, but she has stopped when talking about the personal changes that both she and the members of her team have undergone in these years. “The best first times we have had have been the first times of our children. Mine were a month and a half old when I arrived here, but then another 60 children were born in the newsroom,” she recounted. “I myself have been reborn in this program and I hope that it makes me stronger”, she has commented in reference to the cancer that she suffered two years ago. It was at that moment that she finally broke down with tears in her eyes.
“Today one stage ends, but another is born. I will stop saying ‘good morning’, but I will say ‘good afternoon'”. This has been the last thing he has said in reference to the new format that he will present on Telecinco, TardeARa project that will start at the end of September.
Starting in September, Telecinco mornings will be divided into two programs: The critical lookwith Ana Terradillos, and We’ll see, a space that will be led by Joaquín Prat. Precisely, the presenter has been full of praise for the boss and “sister” of him. “I have never seen you lose your temper, you have never lost your temper or said one word louder than another,” Prat commented. “I’ve learned from you that if those around you shine, some ray of light reaches you. You make a team, you wrap us up, you’ve created a great family and I can’t do anything else but thank you,” he said. “Everything I know about television I have learned from you.”
