Zverev, 'king' of the double fault

With the season over, it is time to collect data and statistics from tennis players. One of the most curious was made by the Twitter user @enricomariariva, from Tennis TV. It collects the players who have committed the most double faults during this atypical season, and in it the undisputed leader is the German Alexander Zverev, with 220. The burly tennis player is escorted to the podium by two Canadians: Shapovalov (189) and Auger-Aliassime (175).

Djokovic appears in sixth place, with 137 infractions of this type. Nadal does not appear in this list of 13 players. Zverev won two titles in 2020, both in Cologne and in consecutive weeks last October. The 23-year-old world No. 7 won 28 games and lost 11 this season, going 14-3 at the Grand Slam. Especially painful was the US Open final against Thiem. The German dropped a great Pablo Carreño in the semifinals who came to be with two sets ahead.
